You said, we did

You said: An opportunity for new Learning Developers to meet informally.

ALDinHE is pleased to announce we are hosting our first in-person conference breakfast networking event at ALDCon23.

You said: Why are all the professional development sessions on the same day?

The professional development sessions have been scheduled across both days at ALDcon23. If you are only able to attend one of the days at the conference, there will be opportunity to attend professional development sessions.

You said: There’s too many emails in the lead-up to the conference.

This year, we have updated the ticket processing. All delegates, after purchasing a ticket, will be led straight into the registration process and booking on sessions. Ticket purchase, registration and session booking have all been combined into one process on the website, which avoids several emails to complete these tasks. All the information you will need about the conference, as a delegate or a presenter can be found on the ALDinHE ALDcon23 website.

You said: A quiet place for time out at the conference.

At ALDcon23, there is a dedicated room for quiet time and focused work during the conference. This is a designated space that allows for quiet reflection, time out from the conference, a place for people to rest, take a break, check emails etc. The Quiet Focus Zone is located in the Portland Building, Room 1.65.

You said: We would like a place to have a chat outside of sessions.

We have also introduced a “Chat and Connect Zone” which is a place where you can go to connect and chat with other delegates.

You said: Have workshops in their own parallel sessions to avoid competing with papers

On the ALDcon23 programme, workshops are scheduled in their own sessions in parallel session 2 (online day) and parallel 7 session on Wednesday 14 June.

You said: More vegan and vegetarian options, including wine

When you purchase your ALDcon23 ticket, you will be led through to registration where you can select food and drink choices. Vegan, vegetarian and other dietary options are provided. We are also increasing the amount of vegan and vegetarian food and serving fewer meat/animal-based options.
