Visual literacy development

My research has so far involved analysing all the module specifications within my institution for explicit or implicit reference to developing visual literacy skills as defined in the ACRL visual literacy standards. I have also mapped these to subject benchmark statements. From this I identified staff to interview in order to identify potential bridges and possible barriers to improving visual literacy development in undergraduate students. In keeping with the visual nature of my topic, I also asked staff to map their confidence in assessing various aspects of visual literacy against the importance they felt those aspects had in their field onto a large visual grid.
