ALDinHE 2017: The Learning Development Conference

10-12 April 2017
In 2017 the Association for Learning Development in Higher Education will hold its annual conference at the
University of Hull from
10th to 12th April.
The conference programme will include workshops, paper presentations and lightning talks relating to all aspects of learning development practice, but with a particular focus on the following themes:
- The Impact and Evaluation of Learning Development
- The Teaching Excellence Framework
- Assessment and Feedback
- Collaboration in the Changing Environments
- Creative Cultures in Learning Development
The conference begins on
Monday 10th April, with an afternoon of workshops reflecting the work of ALDinHE and its various working groups.
Tuesday and Wednesday 11th / 12th April will include a full programme of paper presentations and workshops, with two keynote talks (see below)

Emeritus Professor of Research in Education, Anglia Ruskin University

Dave is a Marxist political and educational activist, Emeritus Professor in Education at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford, England, and Visiting Professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He is a political and trade union activist in England, Greece and Turkey. In England he has fought as a candidate in thirteen local, Parliamentary and European elections and was a Labour Group council leader and elected trade union regional chair. He has advised Syriza in Greece, Egitim Sen in Turkey, and the Labour Party in the UK on education policy. He has edited/co-edited/ written/ co-written twenty-six books, and is the Founding/Chief Editor of the (deliberately!) free online scholarly refereed indexed journal the
Journal for Education Policy Studies (www.jceps.com). Dave is, with Kostas Skordoulis, the organiser of the annual International Conference for Critical Education (ICCE), which will be held in June 2017 in Athens http://icce-vii.weebly.com/

#ACCOMMODATION AND TRAVEL
Delegates are responsible for their own accommodation arrangements. A list of suggested hotels close to the campus is available below.
Please note, due to the City of Culture events taking place in Hull throughout 2017 we would recommend booking your hotel as early as possible

NB. Parking is limited on the University of Hull campus. Delegates staying in Hull are advised to leave their cars at their hotel and use public transport to get to the university. Delegates who are travelling direct should contact Jacqui Bartram (firstname.lastname@example.org) to request a parking permit for the days they are attending.
# ARRIVAL AND DELEGATE REGISTRATION
The conference is being held in the Brynmor Jones Library on the Hull Campus (
Building No. 8 on the campus map)
Registration will take place in the library from 12.00 on Monday April 10, and 9.00 on Tuesday and Wednesday April 11/12.

On the evening of Monday 10th April there will be a choice of evening activities on offer, some of which may include events organised as part of the City of Culture programme. Registered delegates will be invited to select their preferred option when joining instructions are sent out.
The conference dinner will be held at the
