The purpose of the Association for Learning Development in Higher Education (ALDinHE) Advocacy Working Group (AWG) is to:
Champion the visibility, value, and impact of Learning Development (LD) as a concept and profession.
While in our formative stages, our group has a number of work packages planned to support the advocacy and promotion of learning development within teams, institutions and to the sector. Thank you for visiting our market stall – we’re thrilled you dropped by 😊.
You and advocacy – what do you want?
As a new working group, we would like to ask people visiting our market stall a couple of questions. Your answers will not be used for research purposes, but will be discussed by our group to help us inform our thinking, our work packages and our outputs. Our two key questions are:
- What does advocacy mean to you?
- How should ALDinHE advocate for LD?

Interested in contributing to advocacy research?
If you are interested in undertaking research that explores how we can communicate and shape perceptions and values of Learning Development – and our professional standing, ALDinHE has funding available. Please check out the call for proposals from the ALDinHE Research and Scholarship Development Working Group who have identified advocacy as a key strategic aim.
