You may have known us previously as Macmillan Study Skills, but following our move to Bloomsbury last summer, we’re rebranding as Bloomsbury Study Skills.

Despite our move, our mission remains the same; to help students to make the most of their time at college or university, succeed in their studies and achieve their goals. We do this via our portfolio of books, including The Study Skills Handbook and Critical Thinking Skills, written by bestselling author Stella Cottrell, the referencing bible Cite Them Right and many other books, which cover the key academic skills students need for success at college or university. We also publish in the field of personal development & employability and research skills.

We also offer two digital resources:

Skills for Study offers an interactive and personalised solution to help students hone their academic skills and develop the skills required by employers. The resource is based on the work of Stella Cottrell, bestselling author of The Study Skills Handbook.

Students will discover where to spend their time for maximum impact, thereby enhancing their skills and developing habits for confidence and success. This flexible product, which offers guidance on 12 core skills, can be integrated into courses, built into workshops or skills sessions and/or used for self-study.

Cite them right: Comprising an interactive e-Learning tutorial and a reference generator, Cite them right is a user-friendly online resource which helps students reference correctly and understand how to avoid plagiarism. Based on the renowned book, now in its 12th edition, Cite them right offers an

extensive range of source types, all with examples, including: books; journals; media and art; digital and internet; research; legal material; social media; blogs; and graffiti. Guidance is offered for Harvard, APA, MLA, MHRA, Chicago, Oscola, Vancouver and IEEE referencing styles.
