Round 3 – ALDinHE Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Funding Opportunity for conference attendance
ALDinHE recognises that certain minority groups are under-represented in Higher Education (HE) employment or face barriers to progression in their HE careers through lack of opportunities. To address this and to encourage diversity within the conference space, applications are now open for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) funding opportunities to support attendance and presentation at the ALDinHE 2024: The Learning Development Conference (ALDcon24) in June 2024. We actively welcome applications from black and minority ethnic heritage communities, delegates with disabilities and the LGBTQIA+ community.
Funding will cover the cost of registration to the event only per proposal. Travel and accommodation costs, and any additional sundries will not be covered.
Criteria for round 3:
Applicants must have an accepted proposal for ALDcon24 taking place on 7th and 11th-12th June 2024.
Accepted proposals can be for the virtual day on 7th June and/or in person on 11th-12th June in Glasgow.
Joint or multiple authored proposals will be treated as a single submission. Applications should be made by the lead author, with at least one member of the presenting team identifying as being from one or more of the under-represented groups listed above.
Request by application: ALDinHE Conference Fund Application Form
Round 4 – Fixed-term contract staff ring funding:
This category includes staff working on fixed-term contracts with institutions that will not fund them to attend the conference and to independent contract staff. Independent contractors or fixed-term staff working for institutions who are not members must be individual ALDinHE members. Applicants must be presenting at the conference in order to receive funding for their ticket.
Request by application: ALDinHE Conference Fund Application Form
Delegates may apply formally using the Request by application: ALDinHE Conference Fund Application Form, and places are allocated upon successful application by the two Association Co-Chairs and two members of the Steering Group.
Indicative criteria:
Being a member of the Association, either Non-Institutional or through an Institutional member.
Having a workshop or paper accepted for this conference AND/OR contributing to ALDinHE through active involvement in a Working Group, hosting an event, contributing to the journal, or substantially contributing to LDHEN.
Applications will be accepted from registration opening until 12th April 2024 at 5pm (UK time).
All decisions are final.
