About the event

ALDcon26 is the UK’s leading event for the Learning Development Community.

At ALDcon26, make vital connections, share ideas and forge new collaborations as you network with peers from the learning development sector. As well as plenty of workshop-style discussions and knowledge-sharing opportunities, ALDcon26 features a number of social networking events to make sure you leave feeling connected.

As a delegate, you can expect to hear about the latest sector trends and developments, gain new skills, be inspired by our fantastic keynote speakers and enhance your personal and professional network. The conference will offer plenty of CPD opportunities, including research in Learning Development, opportunities to learn more about ALDinHE’s work, and the chance to get involved with a working group and/or a community of practice.

How to get the most from attending ALDcon26

Here are a few tips to make the most of #ALDcon26:

Make connections! Be active, rather than participating passively in our virtual conference. Connections you make during #ALDcon26 become exponentially stronger when you do get the chance to meet in-person in the future.

Chat real-time! Get involved in the chat and breakout discussions during sessions to share insights and ah-ha moments.

Be prepared! Log into the conference website and take a look at the slides in advance so you don’t need to take notes so frantically. Read the joining instructions and get organised.

Plan sessions! If you booked your sessions in advance your personalised programme is emailed to you at the time. If you didn’t book sessions in advance, plan the sessions you want to see and make a timetable.

Block time! You will only get out of the conference what you put in. Block your calendar for the conference and minimise distractions, so you can fully engage with all the sessions.

Social network! Social media is a great way to interact with other #ALDcon26 delegates. Use the hashtag to share takeaways, make shout-outs, ask for help on a particular topic, follow up on session chats and arrange to get together in social activities, using the conference forum.

Have a blether! It can be a lot of learning if you are attending all sessions in a row. Grab a drink at the breaks and have a blether with other delegates.

Dress up! Join in the evening social events.

NETWORKING

There are many ways to network pre, during and post the conference.

A key part of attending ALDcon26 is the way in which you can network with others and build valuable relationships within the Learning Development Community.

As well as offering a way to learn, share ideas and present work, ALDcon26 also provides a range of ways to make connections and a number of social events.
