Biography

Sonia is the Study Advice Manager at the University of Reading and has worked in Learning Development since 2006.. Transitions to university continues to be an area of research interest for her, in particular how students develop the skills that are crucial for study success during their first year.

Sonia completed her Doctorate in Education in 2019, researching the impact of self-efficacy on academic writing attainment.. She is currently researching Locus of Control and its impact on writing attainment. She also has an interest in group assessments and was awarded funding to research the challenges and solutions to group work.
