I am an Academic and Study Skills Tutor for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Manchester Metropolitan University, having previously taught academic skills at the Universities of Bristol and Chester. Much of my work has been with students who are transitioning into Higher Education, particularly within Arts and Humanities disciplines. I have also worked as an Outreach Tutor at the Universities of Bristol and Southampton. In May 2021, I joined the LearnHigher Working Group. I occasionally tweet about learning development using @Chad_McDonald.
How can I help Learning Developers?
I am happy to support learning developers who are applying for their Certified Practitioner award. I’m particularly interested in the development of inclusive and accessible resources, so I’d be keen to discuss best practice in resource and workshop design with other learning developers. I have a special interest in the teaching of academic reading, which might have been influenced by my background as a primary school teacher.
