I work as a Learning Development tutor at Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln, having worked previously at the University of St Andrews as a study skills tutor. While completing my doctorate in History at the University of St Andrews, I also established a programme of subject-specific academic skills workshops, delivered by postgraduate research students to undergraduates within their academic School. My day-to-day work involves supporting students’ learning in one-to-one, seminar, and lecture settings, as well as facilitating events around transitions and wellbeing.
How can I help Learning Developers?
I am particularly interested in projects which incorporate creative methods of delivery, having previously created a Learning Development ‘Escape Room’ involving the gamification of academic skills for induction. I also have an interest in student wellbeing and widening participation and am keen to support best practice in these areas.
