Mel is a qualified primary teacher and youth worker and has been a principal lecturer and student experience lead in the University of Brighton’s School of Education for over ten years. She manages PASS and the Assignment Support Team; a peer mentoring scheme for students to help other students with academic writing. She has a particular interest in supporting mature students and student parents and has been a champion for all WP students. She is taking early retirement from the University of Brighton in July 2019 but plans to continue L&D work part-time and through consultancy.
How can I help Learning Developers?
I would be particularly interested in supporting others to develop peer mentoring schemes to support academic skills and any work with part-time, mature and WP students. Also happy to speak at conferences, facilitate workshops or engage in discussion more widely.
