I am a qualified, registered, SpLD specialist, and my job role is academic director of the SpLD service at the University of Sheffield. My interests are in spatiality, critical disabilities studies, the writing tutorial as a third space, and identity and becoming in academia. My qualifications include Ma Ed Inclusion, M Ed Applied Linguistics, Pg Cert Dyscalculia, Pg Cert Dyslexia, and a Cert Ed. I am also a senior fellow of the HEA . I am currently completing my PhD in how tutors and students experience the SpLD tutorial.
How can I help Learning Developers?
I could support other learning developers in critically considering inclusion and inclusive practice. I could also support others in developing their skills in one to one tutorials, based on experiential and constructivist teaching theories and using teaching strategies such as socratic questioning, scaffolding and manipulatives
