Here are a few tips to make the most of #ALDcon21:

Make connections! Be active, rather than participating passively in our virtual conference. Connections you make during #ALDcon21 become exponentially stronger when you do get the chance to meet in-person in the future.

Chat real-time! Get involved in the chat and breakout discussions during sessions to share insights and ah-ha moments. Being online you can interact in deep ways with one another including at our virtual food and drink tent and over a beverage at our virtual pub crawl.

Be prepared! Log into the conference website and take a look at the slides in advance so you don’t need to take notes so frantically.

Plan sessions! If you booked your sessions in advance (by 31st March 2021) your personalised programme is included at the end of your joining instructions. If you didn’t book sessions in advance, plan the sessions you want to see and make a timetable.

Block time! You will only get out of the conference what you put in. Block your calendar for the conference and minimise distractions, so you can fully engage with all the sessions.

Social network! Social media is a great way to interact with other #ALDcon21 delegates. Use the hashtag to share takeaways, make shout-outs, ask for help on a particular topic, follow up on session chats and arrange to get together at the virtual pub crawl. Download and share your digital badge https://aldcon.co.uk/social-sharing

Have a blether! It can be a lot of learning if you are attending all sessions in a row. Grab a coffee or tea, take a break and have a blether in the virtual conference bar https://aldcon.co.uk/virtual-food-and-drink-tent

Dress up! Join in the evening social events. There’s a virtual pub crawl starting at 7pm on Wednesday night 7th April with themed pubs and discussion topics. The CeP, CeLP and ALDinHE Awards ceremony is on Thursday evening 8th April at 7pm, followed by the quiz: https://aldcon.co.uk/social-events
