LD@3 Reflective Writing

Media Type: Slides, Video
Resource Duration: 60 minutes
Number of downloads: 2

This session will look at reflective writing as a form of student self help. Writing from feelings experienced in a critical incident, students can learn to explain to others and themselves their motivations and reasons for an action or inaction.  Critical experience could be turned into well informed learning conclusions when tutors suggest themes, motivation and structure for student reflection. The discussion will include the varied diet of reflective writing and look at regret as an inspiration to find answers to problems using reflective writing methods, style and language. The session will explore how different feelings expose the discrepancy between what students think they are achieving, what they are actually achieving and how they can find solutions through writing reflectively to realise their academic, professional or personal goals.
