The “Grid of Life” tool is a resource designed to support Higher Education students build their resilience and wellbeing through promoting balance in their lives. It explains the concept of the “Grid of Life” and how to complete the self-reflection task where students will reflect on their whole lives and complete a grid encompassing different life areas that are important to them. They will reflect on their current levels of effort and satisfaction/success within each of the life areas. They will then use that insight to develop an action plan to improve balance in their lives. By building a balanced life students will be better equipped to cope with stress and challenges, a key skill for effectively navigating higher education pressures and life beyond.
