This set of slides is designed to be delivered as an interactive workshop which encourages students to reflect on their own study habits and develop strategies for developing greater focus. The importance of focus for supporting critical thinking, comprehension and retention is emphasised. Research is cited, but there may be alternative perspectives and findings elsewhere and students should be invited to question or challenge what they hear, and contribute their own experience and perspectives. An accompany session overview provides further details on the rationale for each activity, and how it may be facilitated.
