We are delighted that Dr Alicja Syska and Dr Carina Buckley, the editors of How to be a Learning Developer in HE, will launch the first in a series of LD@3 webinars celebrating and reflecting on different aspects of this essential book over the coming months.

Join us for an intimate conversation with the editors of How to Be a Learning Developer in Higher Education, as we mark the first anniversary of book. In this reflective session, Alicja Syska and Carina Buckley will pull back the curtain on both the practical and conceptual decisions that shaped this collection.

Guided by the question ‘How does one capture an emerging field like Learning Development into a cohesive volume?’, the session will explore:

  • The art and craft of assembling an edited collection, from initial vision to final publication
  • How the editors conceptualised the key components and boundaries of LD
  • Critical turning points in the editorial process and their impact on the final work
  • Paths not taken: alternative frameworks and perspectives that could shape future discourse
  • Lessons learned about collaborative academic writing and knowledge creation.

Hosts: Dr Alicja Syska, Learning Development Advisor & Lecturer, University of Plymouth and Dr Carina Buckley, Instructional Design Manager, Solent University
