Biography

I am Head of Learning Development at University of Northampton and have worked in the field for over eight years. I have a teaching background and use my diverse knowledge of pedagogy to facilitate practical and engaging sessions to demystify academic skills. At UON, we have a CATE award winnning team of Learning Development tutors who develop and enhance academic, study and mathematical skills in addition to the new provision of LD Mentors. We are part of Library and Learning Services (LLS) and within the Learning and Teaching Enhancement Team. Externally, I serve as Secretary for the Association and have been a member fo the steering group since 2020.

 

How can I help learning developers?

I would be happy to support other Learning Developers to explore active pedagogies to teach academic skills. I have used flipped learning successfully within my teaching and have developed a range of Xerte online tutorial to support face to face sessions. I would be happy to offer my experiences using this method and how I have integrated it into programmes.
