Biography

Ina Stan was awarded her PhD in 2008 and since then has been working as a senior lecturer at Buckinghamshire New University, teaching academic skills on the Foundation Year and providing one-to-one tutorials to students, developing and delivering study skills workshops and lectures, engaging in formative and summative assessment of students’ work.  Ina also supervises doctoral students and undertakes research on the experience of students in higher education.

How can I help learning developers?

I am interested in collaborating with colleagues from other universities to develop research projects that explore students’ learning experiences. I am on the Ethics Panel at Buckinghamshire New University and I am also involved in a study that explores the impact of group work on the self-efficacy of Foundation Year students at Bucks New University. Thus, I could guide academics in applying for ethical approval for their research. I have successfully mentored several colleagues in applying for AdvanceHE fellowship, so I am happy to support anyone who is interested in applying for professional recognition.
