A principal lecturer head of prpgramme development and employability with over 22 years of effective teaching and leadership experience at various levels 4,5, 6 and 7 in various working in a highly dynamic, challenging, and diverse learning environments (universities and colleges) Along with supervising BA, MA and MBA students. I am currently Director of Teaching Learning ( School Of Arts) at the University Of Westminster I am also Senior Lecturer with several leading publications and module leadership with over 16 years’ experience of managing modules, courses and developing validation documentation for QAA and degree level courses (levels 3 – 7). I am also being involved in curriculum development; creating, developing, Validating and enhancing programs in Business, Hospitality and creative industry as well as managing relationship with national and international partners. Over 53 programs developed and validated through different UK, EU and American universities including (University Of Westminster, London met, UEL, UCA, west London university, Global University system, UTU ( Italy), Chicago Concordia for Berlin BSBI, Berlin School of Business and innovation .
In terms of Management and leading programmes, I have been head of school for creative business in the London college of contemporary arts (UCA campus ) managing over 75 staff and 2200 students in London and also working across international campuses in Europe this has helped me building my communication and curriculum management skills my duties are: to initiate, implement and maintain strategic development plans including staffing plans, to lead the teaching and learning including line management of all relevant teaching staff, ensuring all staff are suitably qualified and experienced and use best practice in terms of delivery mechanisms including the use of new learning technologies, effectively disseminate information to staff and ensure the effectiveness of the institution communication systems within the team including organising regular individual and team meetings, keeping schedules, agendas and action plans, Manage the activities of tutors to ensure effective organisation and delivery of teaching and learning.
Besides Academia, I am actively involved in charity as I am a trustee of the NAC ( Nations Africa Center) where we have been actively working supporting the local community working in different projects in education and arts and community based projects.
What experience related to any form of LD work could you bring to working with a future mentee?
I offer evidence based support tailored to university challenges, specialising in scaffolding complex writing processes, building executive function skills (time management, organisation, task initiation for heavy workloads), teaching metacognitive strategies (active reading, self-advocacy, Work integrated learning, Embedding AI and guiding effective use of assistive technology )all while fostering resilience and self-understanding to help students navigate demanding academic environments and transition toward greater independence.
