Biography

I have worked as both an academic skills advisor and academic librarian, as well as currently working as an educational developer in a staff facing role. I can bring experience of transitioning between those roles and transferable skills that cut across them. I am also an events officer for the NLISN committee as well as leading on the events for the ALDinHE Neurodiversity and Inclusivity CoP and have a lot of event planning experience I can share with others. I am also an internal mentor at my institution and an NLISN mentor and have previously undertaken a coaching qualification, as well as tutoring on the PGCAP and mentoring staff undertaking an AdvanceHE fellowship application.

I am open to being flexible around the needs of the mentee, however I think my strengths would include working with those who are looking for professional recognition or CPD support, looking into changing roles or career moves, and also supporting neurodivergent mentees as I am neurodivergent myself and this is a focus of my NLISN mentoring including supporting those with a new diagnosis navigate that at work; both with understanding what it means for them, and recognising potential adjustments and ways of working that could benefit them and negotiating these with managers and colleagues.
