Biography

Dr Tahani Al-Karkhi is am Academic Skills Lecturer (tenured) in Mathematics, Statistics, and Digital Skills (AEP at King’s College London and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. She has over 18 years of experience teaching mathematics, statistics, and data analysis across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the UK and internationally. Her research spans applied mathematics, dynamical systems, and data science, with applications in healthcare, ecology, and education. She is a recipient of London Mathematical Society travel grants (2017, 2024) and has served as a Royal Economic Society competition judge (2020–2023). Tahani is committed to inclusive, technology-enhanced learning and quantitative skills development and would be happy to mentor LDers who want to develop their expertise in supporting students’ confidence, skills and literacies related to maths and quantitative data and evidence.
