Co-chair of Learn Higher
Jason Truscott is currently a Learning Development Advisor for Science and Engineering at the University of Plymouth and has been co-chair of the LearnHigher working group since 2015. He is experienced in a range of further and higher education contexts, from business studies to science. Possesses qualifications up to PhD in Analytical Chemistry, and Is a SEDA Accredited Teacher of Higher Education, Advanced HE Teaching fellow and a certified ALDinHE practitioner. He is Editor for the Plymouth Student Scientist e-journal and an experienced practitioner in distance learning. His interests in active and digital learning came from collaborations with the Experiential Learning Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (EL CETL) and as lead designer and developer on one of the first online marine distance learning programmes: The Hydrographic Academy (a co-funded project by HE STEM, the Royal Navy and Fugro a multinational surveying company), which later become the Marine Learning Alliance College.
