I have worked with students for almost a decade, initially in further education and then within higher education as a study skills adviser. No matter the role, I have always enjoyed working with and supporting non-traditional learners, helping them to understand, shape and contribute to their education.
Currently, I work within a careers service focusing on employability and enterprise education and how this can be integrated into the curriculum. I am particularly interested in how we can develop students’ self confidence and self-efficacy through enterprise education as well as the connections between more traditional learning development subjects like critical thinking, reflection and self-determined learning.
How can I help learning developers?
I’m always happy to chat, share my experiences and learn from others. Alongside work I’m undertaking an MA in Education Technologies so would be particularly interested in hearing from other practitioners who work in professional literacies spaces or have an interest in utilising digital technologies to enhance learner experiences.
