I have worked in the HE sector for the last 12 years in a variety of learning and teaching roles. I currently work for Library and Learning Services at DMU as a Senior Lecturer in Academic Writing. I also teach on Health Wellbeing and Society and Global Health MSc. I am chair of the LGBTQ+ staff network. I have research interests in relationships, friendship and family creation. I have a PhD in Sociology which focused on the post-birth friendship making processes of same-sex couples. I am published in the area of LGBTQ+ student pedagogy, adoption, and learning development. I am an active member of the Centre for Reproduction Research.
