Biography

“A transformative and entrepreneurial leader, I’m a Principal Fellow of Advance HE and National Teaching Fellow UK, with significant proven expertise in strategically leading and driving change at institutional, national and international level in legal education and online and digital learning including in supporting academic leaders to position student interventions to support high impact retention, engagement and progression of students and driving the digital transformation of law schools.

  • Assistant Director (current – leading Teesside University’s digital transformation of its learning and teaching across campus and online courses including learning systems and digital solutions)
  • Co-author of the world’s first text for students: Digital Lawyering (2021)
  • Head of Online Learning (2019-2021 & Outstanding Leadership award winner)
  • Head of Law (2014-2019, Outstanding Teaching Success Award winner & led the law school to 8th in the UK 2019);
  • PhD Legal Education: Digital Transformation of Legal Education and the Future Readiness of Law Graduates
  • Accomplished author and recognised authority in the fields of Legal Education and Online Learning within the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution
  • Nationally and internationally leading the digital transformation of legal education models and curricula in response to the digital age, as founder and host of ‘Lawyering in Digital Age’, an international initiative which brings together a global interdisciplinary audience
