Biography

Dr Rachel Hope is a Lecturer in Biology in the Department of Biology at the University of York. She is interested in creative teaching methods, building student community and working with students as partners on pedagogy-based projects. Along with Dr Pen Holland she leads the BioJEWEL project, the Department of Biology’s undergraduate journal aimed at developing an inclusive learning community focused on building reflective learning skills. She teaches across all stages of the degree and with postgraduates and she is interested in student development throughout the degree, from the admissions process through to post-graduation employment.
