Join us for three days of stimulating discussion and inspiring sessions – both online and in-person, in the wonderful, vibrant city of Glasgow.

Every ALDinHE Conference is a special occasion, but this year we are particularly excited to announce our first collaboratively hosted event!

Our online day will be Friday, 7 June, and our in-person days will be Tuesday and Wednesday, 11-12 June, hosted jointly by Glasgow Caledonian University, the University of Glasgow, and the University of Strathclyde. The online AGM and virtual pub crawl will take place on Thursday, 6 June.

ALDcon 24 conference themes

ALDcon24 is focused on the theme of the future of learning development and brings together inspiring speakers, interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions.

1. Building Learning Development for the future:

  • Incorporating and/or critiquing new technologies (e.g., ChatGTP and other AI).
  • Considering the position, whether strategic, policy-based, or physical (etc.) of Learning Development within institutions and/or in the wider HE sector.
  • How is Learning Development “serious” and/or “playful”?

2. Building inclusive Learning Development spaces:

  • Physical and/or virtual.
  • Embodied spaces.
  • Social.
  • Emotional.
  • Academic.
  • Mental (i.e., building the environments that let people learn and focus).

3. Building empowering student partnerships in Learning Development:

  • Students as change agents.

Registration

Purchasing a ticket and completing registration

To purchase a ticket, you need to be registered on the ALDinHE website and be logged into your website account before booking a ticket. Please visit our join page to register for a free website account or join as a member. If you are logged into the website as a member, the system will automatically calculate the member discount on your ticket.

At the same time as booking your event ticket, you are required to complete some registration details. A web page will automatically open for you to complete these required fields. Please do not bypass this page, as we need your registration details to place the catering order etc.

If someone will be paying for your ticket, select ‘Direct Bank Transfer’ as the payment option to bypass payment. You can access your invoice and ticket via your My Account > Orders page. Download and email the invoice to the person who will be paying for your ticket.

Session bookings

At the same time as registration, you will also have the option to choose the conference sessions you wish to attend at ALDcon24 or you can choose to book on sessions at a later time. You may wish to review the programme in advance and plan what sessions you would like to book.

Booking confirmation

After booking, a PDF ticket (and your session choices, if chosen) will be emailed to you.

You can also access your invoice and ticket via your My Account > Orders page.

If you pay by card, a receipt will be automatically emailed to you.

Paying on behalf of another delegate?

Please note, tickets are restricted to one ticket per transaction. This is to ensure each ticket is linked to the account holder’s website account, for access to conference resources.

If you are purchasing on behalf of someone else, please ask the delegate to complete registration because information is requested that is individual to the delegate, such as menu choices. The delegate can select “Direct Bank Transfer” as the payment option, to enable someone else to pay for the ticket.

If you are purchasing tickets on behalf of someone else, please email admin@aldinhe.ac.uk with the names of delegates and ticket types. A combined invoice will be sent to you for payment.

Payment can be made via BACS transfer or a payment link can emailed, to pay by card.
