Biography

Dr Jane McKay is a Senior Lecturer and Learning Developer within the School of Health & Life Sciences at Glasgow Caledonian University. Her career began in psychology with a PhD exploring stress and coping among competitive athletes. As a sport psychologist she saw the need to support athletes as people rather than performers, a theme she now brings to working with students through nurturing self-understanding and developing learning in holistic ways. Jane’s research interests lie in understanding how individual differences, most notably perfectionism (a growing problem in HE), influence learning and the wider student experience.
