Step away from the paraphrase: Teaching note-taking as a gateway to knowledge transformation

Biography

Zephra is a Lecturer in Academic Language and Literacies at Oxford Brookes University.  With a background in English language teaching and learning development, Zephra’s current role involves teaching Academic language and literacies modules and working with module teams to embed and delivery academic literacies across the disciplines and degrees. She is passionate about helping students to find their voice in their writing and encouraging students to see reading and writing as a transformative process. Her research interests include the reading-to-write process and the impact student evidence gathering strategies have on their ability to engage with and learn from texts.
